BI-OME® successfully removes microorganisms from fabrics and reduces the activity of viruses. Since no toxic or dangerous substances are used, both people and the environment are unaffected.

Traditional antimicrobials transfer ions to destroy microorganisms and therefore gradually lose their efficacy over time (e.g. silver ion-based compounds). Unlike them, BI-OME® remains active during the life cycle of the treated garments, because it is fixed on the surface of the fabric.

How does it work?

1. Attraction. The microorganisms are attracted by the coating of the fabric.

2. Perforation. Once the microbes get in touch with the coating, their cell membrane is punctured as if by a sword.

3. Disruption. The piercing mechanism deactivates the microorganism, preventing growth and proliferation.
